Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch is dying from pancreatic cancer. He gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving talk, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. On July 25, 2008, Diane Sawyer announced on Good Morning America that Pausch had died earlier that morning. Pausch died at his home in Chesapeake, Virginia surrounded by his wife Jai and their three children. Randy Pausch was 47. In May 2008, Pausch was listed by Time as one of the World’s Top-100 Most Influential People
